Allstate Leasing—not to be confused with Allstate the insurance company—is a good Auto Leasing company who offers some of the features we’d expect from a great company, but lacks the strength and robustness available with our top rated products.
The area in which Allstate Leasing lacks the most is in their features section. Although they offer the basics of door-to-door delivery to all 50 states, they were missing some of the bling bling we noticed with other sites such as GAP coverage insurance, the ability to trade your car in, and lease specials. They do, however, have the ability to track down any vehicle you like and deliver it to your home or place of work quickly.
We did like how easy Allstate Leasing was to use and appreciated the ability to receive a free lease quote. We do not believe you will have any trouble in dealing with this company. Their sales reps were very friendly and helpful, answering all of our questions—including an array of general leasing questions unassociated with their company.
We were not overly inspired by Allstate Leasing in this category because they were missing some of the key aspects we expect from a great Auto Leasing company. Although they did offer some of the necessities like delivery to all 50 states and the ability to custom build your car, they are missing some of the valuable tools such as the ability to trade in your vehicle for a lease, GAP coverage insurance and Lease Specials.
However, we did notice that Allstate Leasing offers a wide variety of vehicles for lease ranging from town cars, to exotic sports cars to SUVs. They also offer the consumer the ability to purchase their car at the end of the leasing period; but we generally discourage this because it takes away from the largest perk of leasing, being in a new car every few years at an extremely low price.
Allstate Leasing, like many of our top rated companies, offers door-to-door deliver, free lease quotes and articles about leasing designed to educate consumers. However, not all of Allstate Leasing’s features are as polished as our top rated companies, which explains the lower mark in this section.
The biggest difference is the About-Leasing Articles. Although Allstate Leasing does offer some literature apart from an FAQ section, it is not very robust, and thus does little good for the consumer. We would have liked to see more articles on a range of topics. They did, however, offer a leasing calculator—one of the few that did—which we found to be very helpful discovering things like how much we could afford to lease, what the lease residual will be, how much will a lease payment be, and what the lease rate will be.
In regards to site navigability, we thought Allstate Leasing did pretty well. Their layout is clean and sharp and all of the options are clearly labeled at the top. You’ll have no trouble finding your way through this site.
There are a number of expenses associated with leasing a vehicle; some are avoidable, while others are not. For instance, everyone must put forth a down payment and/or security deposit. Can’t get around that. Other expenses such as wear and tear, extra mileage and early termination can be avoided.
Allstate Leasing, like all Auto Leasing companies, will slap you with a fine if you bring back a car and it looks like you just got home from a demolition derby. You are expected to maintain your vehicle; this is not a rental. If something on the car does become damaged, you are required to fix it just like you would a car you own. If you do turn in a car with too many damages, you’ll have to pay a hefty fine. Generally, it would have been cheaper just to fix all the problems on your own.
You can also expect to pay a fine if you exceed the prearranged mileage agreed upon in your leasing agreement. Allstate Leasing says most leases limit drivers to between 12,000 and 15,000 a year, although extra mileage can be arranged but it will result in higher monthly payments.
Allstate Leasing can be reached by phone or email at any of their three regional sales offices. Their offices are in Atlanta, Dallas and Richmond, Virginia. Allstate Leasing also offers a great FAQ section with answers to all many of the general questions consumers will have about leasing and Allstate Leasing as a company. We recommend consulting the FAQs first, and if those do not help, utilizing the phone support because emails have the nasty habit of being lost.
Allstate Leasing is a good Auto Leasing company who’ll take care of you the best way possible. They have the ability to track down any vehicle and even offer fleet leasing. We would have liked to see some more consumer based information and general explinations of leasing; however, their customer support is pretty good on the whole.
